All About Alignment!
As we
complete our second quarter of operation for 2007, we face
many challenges -- and many changes. So why do we ask our
managers and supervisors to prepare for and conduct Mid-Year
performance reviews? Is there a real return on the
investment of time and effort? Are there real business
reasons to justify all this 'extra' work?
It's all
about alignment. When we clearly identify measurable goals
within the employee's scope of influence, the line of sight
is clearer. In other words, clear expectations and contributions
lead to clear results and rewards. The return for our effort
is a workforce that is driving in the same direction -- and
driving business results accordingly.
Alignment
isn't something we can do once a year and receive the results
we need. Continuous performance feedback is required. The
answer is yes! -- yes there is a real return on your
investment in time and effort. The Mid-Year PAR review process
produces bottom-line business results -- and it reinforces
the high performance culture we are seeking.
