Andrea was abandoned by her Mom and her Dad brought her in when he couldn’t handle it any more. She was in tough shape… but as you can see, she is now a happy camper who is loved by all.

The rocker makes sounds and the fish move around. The kids, including Andrea, just love it. After a while, so did I.

Stimulating with sounds and activities is key – and I found that if I quacked like a duck everyone immediately came to attention. I couldn’t get Bob to respond in the same way, however.

Ramona is a beauty. She and Bob just hit it off. She loved him and followed his every direction when working with tools on projects. She is his apprentice for the future!

Happy active kids.

Liliana and Mihae.

This beautiful Lilliana just stole everyone’s heart! She’s as light as a feather and just loves to be held and exercised. She’s just learning to pull herself up!

The jumper is so important for the kids to get exercise. Unfortunately the jumper broke while in use and Graco has no replacement expect for those that go over doors. They can’t be used at the clinic because there is only one door and it doesn’t have a frame… so we’ve found a portable one that will be sent with a returning volunteer in June. Maybe the non-mobiles can use it outside too. You can see the joy is Maia’s face as she jumps.

There are too many kids to hold to feed. Even the smallest eat by themselves like Marian is doing with his bottle propped up with a blanket.

Mary Ann as happy as the kids.

We can’t feed the kids yogurt fast enough. Mihai at the forefront is not pleased that Elena is controlling the spoon! Yogurt is a real treat – but some don’t like the taste and sleep (as you can see in the rocker behind Mary Ann).

Little Mihai’s happy. His Mom and step sister had just come to visit and he was reveling in their love. They just couldn’t manage to keep him at home!

Mary Ann and Mihaela.

Little Mihaela is sooooo tiny. Her Mom abandoned her and ran off to Italy. Mom is 18 and this is her second child. Wouldn’t you just love to take her home with you! She’s six weeks old in this photo.

Viorel and Marian are twin brothers who couldn’t be more different. Viorel (in front) doesn’t stop moving or smiling… Marian just loves sleeping as much as he can. They are tiny for six months but very healthy.

Mihai (in the back) is the food predator and needs three bottles. We consolidate those that other kids don’t drink and sneak it to him! Viorel in front is the same age. Quite a difference.

Vale, one of the clinic staff, has special and constant love for Viorel. Wouldn’t you! What a doll. He would fit in my purse if I could pull it off to carry him away!

Viorel is the charmer! There’s nothing more to say that can add to this photo!

Here he is charming us again.

I took Viorel outside for the first time in six months. He could hardly absorb the sunshine and hated touching the grass. He truly could use sun glasses! This is a very sad thing for me: to know how little the kids get out. But summer volunteers will change that and hopefully he’ll grow to love it outdoors.
