Revolutionary War Record of Lieutenant Thomas Green

In 1894 and 1895, my great granduncle, Jacob Lyman Greene, corresponded with William M. Olin, Secretary of the Archives, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. His purpose was to gather records of service for two ancestors, Lieutenant Thomas Green and General Joseph Frye. Follow the links below to see scanned images of Thomas' records and Mr. Olin's cover letter. However, note that I feel there is some uncertainty that Mr. Olin has documented the right Thomas Green - at least in part. I believe there was another, unrelated Thomas Green of Newburyport (who had a brother, Richard) to which the third period of service (under Gerrish) may pertain. Therefore I present these documents with some skepticism. It is unquestionable that Thomas Green served in the French and Indian Wars, and in the Revolution, but the details of that service are far from completely understood.
