ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION TOPICS

We use roundtable discussions to cover general company news updates and topics that haven't made it onto the formal agenda. Often, roundtable time provides some of the greatest value of our meetings. Among the informal topics during this meeting's roundtables, we'll discuss:

  • Why is so much corporate training - on-line or traditional - boring, ineffective, or both? (Stan Malcolm, Performance Vision)
  • Update on the first-ever STEP Book Discussion Group. (Mike Dickinson, USAA)
  • Successful techniques for personal, professional development: How do you do it? (Mike Dickinson, USAA)
  • WW Grainger's rollout of "Career Bands", their new approach to compensation that supports development and now "pays for performance". (Terri Paul, WW Grainger - via speakerphone)
  • A Community of Practice approach to Knowledge Management - brief discussion of work-in-progress (Jaqueline Meyers, Best Buy)
