William Herbert Dunton Materials
from Stan Malcolm

My grandfather, Edward Leon Greene, studied at the Cowles Art School in Boston in 1899 - at the same time as William Herbert Dunton. They seem to have been good friends as my grandfather mentions Dunton in a letter to his fiancee, Dunton gave my grandfather the sketch below, and the autographed photos taken later suggest an on-going correspondence.

Sketch dated 1899. Hunters standing over a steer while in the foreground another hunter appears to be explaining himself to a farmer, presumably the steer's owner. 9.5 x 12"
