February 2nd. Groundhog Day. Only green grass was on the mural.

The Engineer loving it.

First time on the trail since last week's blizzard. Thankful that something (snowmobile?) had been through to partially pack our 15 inches of snow.

A lot of churning at the Colchester Spur junction, but at the upper right, the trail to the marsh remains pretty good.

Neither saw nor heard any wildlife, though not a big surprise at noontime.

I was getting pretty tired by this point so turned back.

February 3rd. A brief afternoon stop at Cranberry Bog.

Artistically sculpted shrubs at the edge of the pond.

Parking area plowed. It will be awhile before that snow melts.

Nor is the gate accessable in case of an emergency.

The view west across Smith Street.

Animals were out up near the barn.

February 4th. The snowmobile had been out again and further compacted the snow - tamping down the footprints that had made walking more dificult. Mine were today's first footprints - and not deep at all.

Unfortunately, the snowmobile turned onto the Colchester Spur rather than continuing straight to the marsh.

I chose to walk a bit of the Spur, now in great shape.

Looks like a woodpecker tail feather.

Back past the mural to end my walk.
