September 16th. Preparing for more pours.

Can't remember the last time I saw Green-winged Teal (Anas crecca carolinensis) at Raymond Brook Marsh.

 

A short walk east from Route 207. Virgin's Bower (Clematis virginiana). This grows over the boulder near the trail gate.

 

A bit of Chicory (Cichorium intybus) still blooming.

 

 

 

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) up close.

 

 

 

 

 

Silverrod or White Godenrod (Solidago bicolor).

 

 

 

First Woolly Bear (Pyrrharctia isabella) I've seen this year. Curled up in defense after I picked it up.

 

After a few minutes it opened up and started moving along.

September 17th. Wide pour done (sidewalk), and prep beginning for the next pour (base for barriers and/or fencing?).

 

At the marsh, two young female Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa).

 

After 3:00 P.M. Work over for the day, but looks ready for the next pour.

 

The paired metal posts in the area to be poured next were what I saw sparking a couple of days ago as they were cut to length. (Pics on the previous page.)

 

The right side is ready for a pour too.
