October 19th. Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta) at the pond east of River Road.

A Double-crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) was back at that pond, preening...

...and spreading its wings to warm and dry them.

October 20th.

Ferns are turning pale.

Moon, just past full.

Lots of American Robins (Turdus migratorius) flying about.

Best guess is a Yellow-rumped "Myrtle" Warbler (Dendroica coronata) in winter plumage.

White-throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis).

A female Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis). There were several around.

October 21st. A male Wood Duck (Aix sponsa) at the pond east of River Road.

Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) overhead.

A Double-crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus). I think this is the smaller, lighter colored bird I sometimes see here.

Mallard bathing.

October 22nd. Warm sun on invasive Common Reed (Phragmites australis).

Presumably a Sparrow, but I can't ID it.

A short walk east from Route 207. Woolly Bear (Pyrrharctia isabella) caterpillars are on the move.

Common Evening-primrose (Oenothera biennis) still blooming. Remarkable.

A Double-crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus).

Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) in the distance.
