December 11th. Grayville Falls after about 4 inches of rain last night.

Heading east from Old Colchester Road into Raymond Brook Marsh. Deep water on the trail.

The small beaver dam here is completely submerged...

...and the outlet stream swollen.

Very high water everywhere.

Up to my ankles as I waded across here.

Hopefully the beavers' food cache is just submerged, not washed away.

Submerged leaves in the trailside ditches.

A sprig of Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora) showing green.

A swollen Raymond Brook seen from the Old Colchester Road bridge.

December 13th. A pair of Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) down towards Old Colchester Road.

Lots of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis)...

...that soon took flight...

...heading west over the trail.

Another pair of Mallards in a frosty area not yet reached by the sun.

A brief afternoon stop at the pond east of River Road. Forest reflections.

Next stop Cranberry Bog and a pair of Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos).

A large flock of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) parading down the far edge.

I count 20 in this photo.

Crowding together to all climb the bank.

Nearly all on shore.
