October 22nd. Yay, it's not raining! But rain yesterday brought down a lot of the Fall foliage.
Last Spring's Baltimore Oriole nest still hanging, barely.

October 23rd. An afternoon walk east from Route 207. Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) grooming.
One of the males has a leg band.
Lots of Meadowhawk Dragonflies (Sympetrum sp.).
Green Frog (Rana clamitans) in a trailside ditch.
Pigskin Poison Puffball (Scleroderma citrinum).

October 24th. A foggy 37 degrees at 7:45.
Sun trying to break through.
In Spring, foliage appears from the ground up; the trees being the last to show leaves. In Fall the process is reversed with the trees losing foliage first.
