August 13th. Summer sunshine: Woodland Sunflower (Helianthus divaricatus).

 

 

Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) is always ahead of the pack in showing some fall color.

August 14th. A Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) perched where the Kingfisher was yesterday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa) in their usual spot. Two males and a female...

The Heron displaced the usual Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor) to higher branches.

 

 

Another Heron, this one in the little marsh by the turn for the Colchester Spur.
