June 21st. Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura).
One of two female Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) that flew in, so they at least have finished molting. Looks like she's wearing a crown.
Young Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa) paddling upstream in the channel. Three males and one female in this group.
All paused on a log. Last to arrive was "mom" at the upper left. (She sports the white teardrop around her eye.)
The female is still molting and flightless.
After a break, they continued upstream.

The Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa) in their usual resting place.

Sticky hairs on the floral tubes.

On my return walk, the Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa) were still hanging out.
