October 1st. Cloudy with rain on the way.

Great Egret (Ardea alba) still around.

Ha! Hard to see but it caught a slender fish.

Then a short flight to hang out with its duck buddies.

October 2nd. Sunshine just touching the tree tops.

Common Reed (Phragmites australis).

More sunlight hitting these trees on my return walk.

New York Asters (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii).

October 4th. Winterberry (Ilex verticillata).

Great Egret (Ardea alba) with duck buddies...

...and a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias).

Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipter striatus) I think.

October 5th. Thirty degrees and first frost.

Northern Flatid Planthopper (Anormenis chloris).

October 6th. Nice to see a few Bouncing Bet (Saponaria officinalis) flowers hanging around.

Crab Spider (Family Thomisidae, most likely Mecaphesa sp.).

Asters (Symphylotrichum sp.).

Sumac. (Rhus sp.).

The usual Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias). No Great Egret again today.
