March 27th.  Twentyone degrees at dawn.  Brr.  But the Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor) are back!

Seemed like at least one swallow for every stump.

March 30th. Nearly 9" of rain in two days have flooded the trail through Raymond Brook Marsh to a depth of 6" in spots.

The Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor) seemed energized by the rain and wind.

March 31st. Water has receded, leaving some washouts.

Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora) is leafing out.

I saw this Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) carrying a fish in its talons yesterday.  Today it was back on the hunt.

The stream at the Route 85 trailhead is still roaring.

The Trailing Arbutus (Epigaea repens) near River Road will flower soon.

A small wasp (sawfly maybe?) on an Arbutus leaf.

April 1st.  Nice to see a Beaver (Castor canadensis) after all the local lodges were flooded for several days.
