May 27th, 2006. A pair of Yellow Warblers (Dendroica petechia) have built a nest close to the trail.

 

 

June 9th. The yellow warblers have chicks. Here the male does some housekeeping, removing a bit of fluff.

 

 

Four mouths to feed.

 

 

Mom and Dad feeding bright green caterpillars to the chicks.

June 10th. Dad's turn to feed the chicks.

June 14th and the Yellow Warbler chicks have grown a lot.

 

 

Singing for their supper?

 

 

Feather shafts are visible on the chicks' bodies.

 

 

 

 

 

June 17th. The chicks have fledged and are being fed by their parents in nearby trees.
