Ian played first base and pitched in Marlborough's recreational baseball league this spring.

In a tough game against Bolton, Ian was pitching. We were behind three runs, the bases were loaded, there were two outs and the count was 3 and 2. It was tense. Then the batter's father called out to his son, "I'll give you five dollars if you get a grand slam!" So I yelled back, "Hey Ian, I'll give you five dollars if he doesn't!" Ian laughed, the tension was broken, and Ian struck him out. Ian went on to pitch all six innings and we won the game.

Thanks to Coach John Hassett for taking these photos of Ian.

After the regular season, Ian played for the town's Cal Ripkin Tournament tream. (Ian at front right.)
