March 22nd. At the pond east of Route 207 again. Great spot for tree reflections.

A few Hooded Mergansers (Aix sponsa) around. This is a female.

Peering below the surface before they dive to hunt.

A pair of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis).

Ring-necked Ducks (Aythya collaris) dropping in.

Northern River Otters (Lutra canadensis) around again. Tricky to catch them above the surface.

Proof of two at least.

In the afternoon, Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) were back at Cranberry Bog in East Hampton.

There's a small pond a bit east of Cranberry Bog. Wood Frogs (Rana sylvatica) were there in loud chorus.

At Cranberry Bog, lots of Painted Turtles (Chrysemys picta) were sunning.
